Might help to have some context on where the pic was taken. Almost looks like a 6400 mil safety T or safety diagram.

All I know about it is that the artillery was on a flatcar during WWII and was taken on a RR siding in Goffs, CA (part of Patton's Desert Training Center, later C-AMA).

Rick,
They look like range tables, for adjusting azimuth and elevation. My 1940 German 105mm LFH18 has a similar one, added by Portugal.
Thanks,

For direct fire?

No, I believe for IDF.
The ones in the photo seem like they are paper or cardboard (temporary, for that exercise). The one on my 105mm is aluminum.

It looks like a simplifed plotter similar to this one with the range table.

The one on the gun shield is for DIRECT FIRE. The line drawing is part of the fire direction center equipment for INDIRECT fire.

Whatever that is on that gun shield OP posted is something to do with direct fire.

The gun chief has absolutely nothing to do with fire commands (which are gun settings in charge, quadrant elevation, and deflection) except setting them on the hand wheels and leveling the bubbles.
