Questions on M3 37mm rifling

Post by Andy Cole » Fri Apr 23, 2021 4:07 am

Does anyone know the rate of twist of the rifling in an M3 37mm barrel?
I've got a fired projectile, so I can count the number of lands and grooves as pressed into the driving band.

It has 12 lands and grooves pressed into the brass.

The grooves measure 5/16" and the lands 3/32"

I think it is one turn in 36 inches; a friend has a real one.
Books say 25 calibers; which is 37x25.
