Replical 75mm Pack Howitzer for sale - SOLD

Post by steve1973 » Tue Jul 17, 2018 6:08 pm

I'm listing this for my Dad. If you have any questions please contact him, not me, thanks. The Howitzer is located in Springfield, Oregon.

FOR SALE: Custom full size replica M1A1, 75mm Pack Howitzer with 12 gauge shotgun breach for firing blank black powder shells. This replica Howitzer is not able to fire any live ammunition. This replica Howitzer will turn heads during a parade or other military celebrations. I had this Howitzer built from a base unit I purchased some years ago. This unit includes platform, cannon, original 75 mm Pack Howitzer wheels and hubs(all new bearings and seals) with correct axel width, static lateral adjustment wheel with leather boot, custom range finder optics, canvas barrel cover, leather muzzle cover, canvas range finder cover, locking wood box for optics and covers, metal ammo box for storage, original range record book metal case, manual elevating mechanism to raise/lower barrel and a pintle hook hitch ring. This replica 75mm Pack Howitzer also includes original brass shell display unit (removable), original 3 shell ammo box and original blank ammo box with empty shell casings, original manual and a WWII original drill round. This howitzer would look great towed behind your military vehicle in special events around where you live. A real 75mm Pack Howitzer sells for over $40,000 and are difficult to register and have in public. Here is your chance to have a blank firing replica.

NOTE: Some photos of cannon were taken with M151 style wheels but cannon has since been updated with original pack howitzer wheels and hubs.

Re: Replica 75mm Pack Howitzer for sale - PRICE DROP

Post by steve1973 » Fri Jul 20, 2018 5:05 pm

Price drop, $14,500.00 OBO.

I've been getting to many questions about if the cannon is de-milled or live. This is a 100% replica of the real thing with the exception of the wheels, hubs and a few other small items.

Thanks

Sorry to say but it seems alittle high for a replica you can buy a brand new replica 75mm from guy in Arizona with a ten gauge blank shooter in side for 5500. I sold my replica 37mm anti tank gun a few years back for right around 4k

Hi all,

Yes seems steep to me too, and then it still looks "different' I own and restore Packs, so may have a different take on this.

To make an accurate replica would probably cost as much as the real thing, and in a way I'm glad about that.

I believe the gun for sale started as one of the Arizona replicas. Steve has done a good job of adding to it to enhance its appearance. These are a tough build considering the stamped carriage pieces and cast gun parts

Hi guys,
I was a little disturbed when I got up this morning to find some negative emails about my Dad's pack 75. So, I have a few words to say. I'm not sure where my Dad got the pack 75 from if it was the guy in Arizona or someone else. If it is the guy in Arizona and you think it is a great buy and a great looking pack 75 then you need your eyes checked. It looked good from about 50 feet away. We are fortunate enough to have access to a real pack 75 on display in a park and to boot we know someone near by that has a restored one. My Dad had the entire upper carriage and barrel assembly rebuilt and included a mechanism to raise and lower the barrel as it didn't have this when he got it. I was fortunate enough to locate a set of original pack 75 hubs and wheels and had new axle stubs machined and fitted to the pack 75 to accommodate the original hubs and wheels. the hubs were rebuilt with all new bearings, races and seals. A leather boot was fabricated and a wheel was found to simulate the original transverse mechanism. This project alone cost $4000. Other original parts were incorporated into this pack 75. They include the sight, sight cover, leather barrel cover and other miscellaneous items. The pack 75 comes with an original manual, WWII dated drill round, original wood crate with used blank rounds in tubes, original log book holder and some other stuff. This pack 75 looks great sitting next to an original and is so much better than when my Dad first got it. I don't see much real pack 75's for sale and know they fetch a pretty penny. All I can say is you get what you pay for and this pack 75 is worth every cent!!

Please provide more information on the 75mm Pack Howitzer for that price in Arizona. I am a total Disabled Vietnam Veteran who put a lot of time and money in building a REPLICA model of this wonderful howitzer so other Veterans would be honored when displayed or in a parade. It's too bad that members like yourself can come on this forum and bad mouth a Veteran who wants to share part of history with others. Shame. Instead of going public with your narrow minded opinions, why did you not take the time to contact me and provide information which might be helpful. My replica howitzer has been in numerous parades and fundraisers for fellow Veterans, raising lots of money for their various needs. What have you done?

I do appreciate your knowledge on restoring Packs, every one saved carries on its proud heritage. I am a disabled Vietnam Veteran who built the replica Pack up for sale. I could not afford a real or restored Pack so I took it upon myself to build a replica which could be pulled behind my jeep in parades and placed on display for other Veterans and the public to enjoy. I did the best I could and it was always a work in progress to improve things as time went on. With the help of my wonderful and loving son, Steve Andereggen Jr, we have created a replica that turns heads, promotes question on the real howitzer and gives Veterans and the public a visual image of what the real howitzer might look like. I do appreciate your support and positive comments on my replica which might help recover funds I put into the project. I believe OBO listed on my ad would give potential buyers the opportunity to give a fair offer. Input (in private) from you and other critics would have been very helpful in determining my prices. Thank you for this. It does cost a considerable amount of money and time to do any custom mental work these days. I will always honor and support my fellow Veterans who fought for our country.

OK so i read the posts after my post about the pack that is for sale no disrespect to the person or family that is selling it I just wanted to give info on other prices that are out there. This forum is I believe used for knowledge and help to others who have the green fever like myself. As for calling into question my devotion to veterans and the sacrifices that have been made for our freedoms. I have been in to many parades to count for my local vfw and American legion. My family is very heavily military Father ww2 vet navy, uncle usmc ww2 vet past, other uncle kia ww2 army, grandfather ww1 vet, brother in law retired csm army, I myself have not served but feel I do whatever I can to help where I can . So please don't make this a negative comment post especially if you don't know the people. Again good luck with the sale of your piece.

Sorry to sound like a dummy but "Restoring pack", do you mean you make replica shells?
