Does anyone have a copy of the MAC replica build instructions they are willing to share? Thanks, Bob

no plans but I was able to build one by just going and measuring all components from a real one at the local museum that now closed. good luck

susmiester I am doing the same thing but have not found one in the local area yet. Working mainly from pictures. One thing I can say is its a lot of fun to do.

I live outside of Memphis, and you can come up and look at mine, and get all the photos and measurements, if you want.

Re: MAC replica 37mm plans anyone?
Bob, and other guys interested in building up a 37mm ATG,
I am Brent, owner of MAC Sytems Replicas. My son and I build M3 and M6 37mm replicas, among many other replica items. I am happy to see there is much interest in owning replicas these days, as real weapons pose many issues, not to mention the cost. To my knowledge, we are the first to commercialize this type of product, ever. Some guys have built one-offs, because they are able, have the time and a nice shop, and the money. Some would rather just buy one already finished.
I spent hundreds, maybe a thousand hours, doing the research, photographing, designing, and sourcing the components to build a good replica. I knew from the beginning that somewhere out there, people would build their own, either researching actual units, or copying mine. My plans are copyrighted, hoping to discourage too much copying of my work. I don't sell the plans, for the same reason. And that's why we offer the kits as an option. It is a way to give the enthusiast a leg up, so to speak, to build a nice replica using the starting point of a kit that propels them easily into a finished unit, rather than too much struggle.
We offer our M3 and M6 in two ways, at least:
-Kit form, where all the hard parts are done. These parts include items where special fabrication techniques are either above and beyond the normal MV enthusiast skills, or require specialized equipment. All other items required are detailed in my PLANS which are the starting subject of this thread.
-Fully assembled, turnkey M3 or M6, assembled, welded, primed, painted and stenciled.
So we are very reasonable with our pricing, keeping in mind the collector like ourselves: A lot of interest and not a lot of money to spend. We work very hard with a lot of passion for this hobby. Please help us stay in this honorable hobby as a supplier by respecting our work and efforts.
Let us know if we can help in any way.
Brent

Re: MAC replica 37mm plans anyone?
I have been waiting since September for a quote on a parts kit. We finally found a display 37mm and took measurements. So I guess we will have to start building one without the kit. What is the price now for a finished one?

Re: MAC replica 37mm plans anyone?
Hey Jimbo,
Sorry for the delay. My son has partnered with me on the replicas, and in a bit of a holding pattern on M3's since we are working on a different business arrangement and we should have turn-key M3's in a few months.
As for the kits, we may not be offering those for a while. They are actually quite labor intensive just to make the kit and we are moving toward turn-key only.
I'll definitely let you know as soon as we get rolling again with finished M3's, ok?
Thanks!
Brent

If you know basic welding I could possibly make a set of dimension plans if you need them it took me about 3 mths to make mine and start using it.

My partner in this endeavor is a retired welder. And his partner has his own machine shop. So plans would be a great bonus. Thanks

I've been dragging my feet for a year or more, however here is a link to a build I started about 4-5 years ago. I am,...er...ugh...was, building a replica 37mm ATG. I've got to see if I can find the pics that photobucket has hid, and load them directly to the G.

Re: MAC replica 37mm plans anyone?
Many thanks Andy. Its just nice to see pictures of a build so I can see if I am on track and going down the same path. I have spent most of my time lately on restoring my M151A1. After I get the Mutt back together, it's "full time" working on the 37mm. PS wish I had some of your machinery LOL. Bob

I have not heard anything further from Mac systems, and can only find his old website. Has there been any change to when these may become available again, and the cost? If it's low enough, maybe I can convince the wife that I really need it!

Re: MAC replica 37mm plans anyone?
Jimbo,
This is Brent, owner of Mac Systems Replicas. I apologize for the delays in communication. I am still in business, but Covid caused a lot of changes for me, and my day job also changed status several times this year. My son Matthew took over manufacturing, but had to move his home and workshop. So when we get all this straightened out and get suppliers to requote materials, we can once again produce.
I wish I had a good date to give you but I don't yet. We fully plan to get busy as soon as we can!
Thanks for your patience!
Brent

I hope the Covid thing has passed you by Brent. I cannot even find replica guys website anymore, so I am guessing you and your son are not in business any longer. That is very sad.

Jimbo,
Hey we are still in business, just not doing much at the moment with big stuff. My son has permanently lost his shop lease, and hasn't secured another location yet to set up. I am no longer able to build items that big. So we are in limbo, still.
One of these days we will be back...
Thanks for remembering us!
