105mm shell casings for sale

Post by fireinthehole » Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:38 pm

I ran across these shell casings. If anyone is interested in some, they are 12 bucks each plus shipping. They have been stored outside and have some rust on the inside. There is some scuffing on the outsides but no dents. I don't see a date on the one I have here, but it is stamped 105MM M148A1B1. I will be heading back this weekend to where they are at and I can pick some up for anyone interested. I can ship them once I have them back here. Try to let me know by Saturday morning because that is when I am leaving. There are no brass casings.

I will be picking up about 25 casings for those who PM'd me. I am leaving now and will be there Sunday about 10 A.M.. If anyone else would like some too, you can call me on my cell up till then and will grab some more. Otherwise casings can also be gotten at some time down the road. I will return with these on Wed. and then can start to ship them out.
Thanks guys,
Lou

Hi Lou,

I'd be interested in buying 2 or 3 shell cases. I live in Sweden and I suppose shipping will be a bit expensive, but that's OK. Can you bother with shipping overseas? I would be very grateful. Can you give me an approximate amount for the shipping before I decide?

I plan to make the casings into "field improvised" mufflers for the Dodge WC. I know that mechanics in the field used 105 mm casings as makeshift mufflers when original Mopar items were in short supply. What material are they made of, do you know? I've always thought that casings were made of brass/bronze, but the material in these look more like steel. I take it that these shells have been fired and thus contain no gun powder?

You can mail me here:

Goran,
I will let you know as much as I can about the shipping when I return. Also it looks like I missed putting down my cell number on my last post. It is (262)705-9333

Yesterday I picked up one of these from Lou . I put it against the buffing wheel and alot of the marks came off. Looks good attached to the shell that was made right here in Janesville in the old GM plant . These were given to the employees at the end of WWII. Of all people, my mom got one. Now all I need is the correct fuse.

I have picked up more casings for anybody who was interested after the others had been all sold. Same price and this will probably be the last time I will be able to get any more. Also , I have some that I need delivered to the Knob Creek Gun Show next week if anybody is going that would be interested in delivering some.
Thanks,
Lou
