NOT A CCKW OR DUKW HELP ME

Hi all
Hope some one out there can hellp me. I like diffrent trucks as some
of you know 6x4 jeep,gaz 67 and 1944 cat d4 bulldozer. I would like to build a G.M.C 2.5 ton DCKW yes a DCKW this was the low profile truck
one photo in the gmc a universal truck book page 50 . Can any body hellp with any more photos of this truck

Jerry-If you look at page 315 in Fred W. Crimson's book U.S. Military wheeled vehicles, you'll find a few photos. The book is from Crestline Publishing, with ISBN number 0-912612-21-5

Thanks for posting as I would never have known about them until I looked it up!

Jerry-Looking thru Crimson's book, I'd say you've hit the description exactly. According to the book, only three of these low silhouette trucks were ever built. I'm sure they didn't tool up to make a prototype, so they probably used available parts when they made it. The book states the DCKW had a 151 inch wheel baseoverall length of 243 inches including the winch. I believe the normal CCKW's were 145 or 164 inch wheel base, so your project will fall in between.

Sounds like a terrific project!
