Axle shaft?
I've had this bent and broken axle end for years. The day I went to check for a 7/16" screw, I was surprised that it didn't. I was told it was probably from an old Chevrolet.

Re: Axle shaft?
Yes Fernie, this is for a Chevy G-506. The CCKW axle flanges were drilled to receive a "split cone". The bolt that fastens the axle flange to the hub would receive a lock washer then the "split cone", then the three piece assembly would be inserted into the flange and tightened to the hub. The "split cones" helped to keep the bolts from walking out as the truck was rolling down the road.

Re: Axle shaft?
Hi Dave,
Only the CCKWs with the Timken aka "split" axles, utilized the tapered cone retainer design.
The CCKWs equipped with the corporate (banjo) design, used conventional bolts, like the Chevy.
Hi Fernando,
If the holes are not 7/16", maybe that axle shaft is from some other truck with a full floating axle?
Best Regards...
