Drove to north Alabama over the weekend to look at a couple 10 ton's that I last saw 12 yrs ago for the sole reason that maybe out of the 20 tire's between them maybe I could put together a set...not the case!! But I did look in a box truck and this brand new GoodYear 1400 x 24 that was there 12 yrs ago was still there and to my surprise the guy said go ahead and take it with me no charge...it's gonna look great up in the bed as the spare. For me the only negative is tire's as it has alway's been with owning a 10 ton. Back in the day when I was in the hobby strong I had collected an extra 26 tire's that all were very nice and even better 11 of those 26 tire's were brand new never been mounted Denman's...when I moved out of that shop and was selling everything off the tire's went to a guy in France, man I would so love to have my hand's on those Denman's right about now!!!!!

My father and myself wanted to have some tires made because this size is going to be so hard to find. But the question we always have always wondered who has the mold for these tires, you think there would be some out there somewhere, and we have gone on a trip in the sense of the time and energy of making many phone calls to tire companies to seeing if anyone could help us out in this, and we really had no luck at this point, I know what we have on our trucks are in okay shape I mean they are 20 ply tires, but the point is to trying to find them out there is really becoming like a needle in a haystack. But I am glad to hear that you went on a road trip to getting your spare that is pretty exciting to me here that is for sure, carry on solider and keep us in the loop onto this amazing journey...

I remember our cabs they can be fun and a little tricky as well, and these are nice photos of the cab, it does not look to be in too bad of shape... I mean do you have a lot of repairs to doing on that cab at all, or for the most part is it in nice shape???

Made the lift yesterday... and yes like past project's this one is no different leading to more than expected. Only difference with this truck is that I don't have 6 other's keeping me distracted so I can focus on 1 truck. Cab need's some metal and fab work, engine will have to come out to replace the rear main seal and may as well do the clutch while I'm there....

Well I am really looking into the tire options that we can do here and I called over 12 tire companies to asking what it would take and I am waiting for responses on this, and I know that there are a lot of people looking for these tires. But glad to hear you had a great Christmas and off to the new year this week and pray for all families here on the G and wishing everyone the best here...

I love the life of big trucks. Please how many miles were on the lock? It looks like it has not done many.
I will be following your thread, thank you.
Merry Christmas to you & yours also.
