Hi, sorry just got time to look on the net. Yes, but not that big, a ex NZ Army 1986 Mercedes Unimog 1300L that we have own since the month our daughter was born, 24 year. The time has gone so fast. We have done so much in the truck, camping, tripping from one end of New Zealand to the other & back. I rely like it that the general public come up & talk to me about the truck. I like the way big trucks move, with the sounds they make etc. I have looked on hear about these big trucks before & enjoy following your work, rebuild, repairs. Thank you, to you blocks that save these very large trucks. As has been said before, all of the EX MILL vehicles have history. I just found a YouTube page to do with the Smithsonian, vehicles that are being added. Yours should be one. Thank You Sir!

RedArrow, having owned one for 24 years & 130 000 Km's, there has not been that many issues really.
First big one was due to having been store out side with many others, looked after? by civilian contractors that washed it. Got water in the engine oil & down the bore, some how & sat for 3 years before we bought it. Engine rebuild! One left rear wheel bearing set. Due to one ball the size of your thumb fall apart. Caused by faulty manufacture? I court this before it damaged the portal gears. That's it. The rest has been just maintenance. It did only have 41 000 Kms on it when we got it. Yes & have seen bad news for others, due to no maintenance & driving skills. I have just done the engine again, but this was to build it strong for the turbo installation. It has been fun & still is to own & drive. :P Thank you.

Well thanks for sharing that story with me,I always wanted to own one but I will have to wait for that dream to happen after I fight my battle with cancer. I found out a few weeks ago the bad news and I been running away from it due to not wanting to really think that I have it, but anyways enough about my crap here and wanted to wish you and your family the best in the coming year...

Stephen,

Well I have been better, but I am holding there has been a lot going on with my health as of late, and I am struggling in my mind on what to do next. But I am a fighter like I said before and it is so hard to think that sometimes there is no end of this in sight. But I been working through it, and I will never take for granted the sunrises and the sunsets let me tell you. Life has become more meaningful to myself when something like this happens. My pancreas is not in the best of moods lately, causing a lot of pain. And the weight loss is another thing, I am 6 2 and I should be around 220 pounds, and I am like only 155 pounds that is how much weight I have lost. And I was not that big of a person in the weight area to begin with.

But more importantly thanks for your time in thinking of me here on the G. And sorry that I have been like a ghost to all that have been here for me. Until then stay safe, and be good to the people around you...

Hi Bryan,
Good to hear you are fighting back at it.
I've just turned 60, just had my prostate out. Very lucky, blood tests, MRI & biopsy showed what was there. I already had a enlarged prostate, so out it came. I have always been around 73 Kg. Like my wife, a light wait. I have bounced great after the surgery. I'm dry, no leaks. :P
I hope that you to, can get back on top of your health Bryan. As the nurses say, we are really, still young men, with meany years ahead of use.
Thinking of you.
Regards
Stephen

Stephen,

Thanks for the warm response, and it is great that you are doing well. And being 60 and still alive is a miracle in itself. And thanks for sharing that information with me. And like I said before everyday is a miracle and anything else after that is a blessing. You take care of yourself and please stay in touch when you can....

Finally!! Thank God I have no HOA to worry about and all my neighbor's are cool with what I do. Had to move the truck around to my driveway because I bought a 1969 Z28 4 speed car from a good friend of mine and I had to make the choice which one would be under roof. Got the M125 primed :D :D :D :D working steady on it now when I can in between work and this Florida heat...
