Hi,

Thanks. I reached out to them and they do not have them any longer.

Any other leads for 14.00x24 NDT tires? Location is not a problem.

Thanks,
Dave

That is what we run into a lot as well a lot of dead ends for sure, I wish that we could find the tire mold for these tires like my father says. They had to have molds of these somewhere, we always talk about making a big run of new tires, but to find the molds or to making the molds new would be costly, and the other thing is when you make a new set of tires does the company that makes them want an order of like 10,000 before they would start a run on them? That is the question we always ask here. But you take care and keep me posted on your search...

We are having tyres made, currently we’re making bar grips in 600-16 and 7.50-20 and British army track grip style in 900-16.
All the moulds are made to our own design, we make them the batches of 200 usually or whatever we need to fill a container basically.

The cost is in that mould, anywhere between $10-25k ish! depending on size and details. Plus the bigger the tyre the more material required.

The tyres are easy enough to have made if the demand is there, no point in making 200 if only 2 people needs 10 Tyres.

Well thanks for sharing that with me and you are right about you have to have the demand for them or there is no point of making 200 just for 2 people I get that I totally do!

If you did decide to make them we’d be interested in 12.

We’re going to look into making a batch of tyres, just a couple of questions to the guys that might need them,

1. What ply rating?
2. Load rating?
3. Would they need to be DOT approved ? In the UK/EU we don’t need type approval for historical vehicles, but we’re not familiar with US requirements.

We’ll figure out some rough pricing and then put the feelers out to see if we can justify a batch.

There is a lot that goes into this process for sure and those are some great questions for sure. I mean the 10 tons we own have 20 ply tires on them and I would have to think you would want to keep the plies the same due to the weight of the vehicle being over 35,000 pounds. But I will keep you all informed to this update for I hope to get some answers this week maybe depending if everyone is back from the holiday vacations...
