Front boom for CCKW with winch
Does anyone have pictures of the CCKW front mounted boom that was seen in pictures on some CCKWs? Was it normal issue or something like a 'field expedient'? Any manual? There must be adapter brackets for the front bumper?

It was issue and came as a field kit. I have no idea where I filed the information, it has been 40 years. Gotta watch the phone and power lines tho.

Bet you could look at the kit mounted on the DUKW and find it's the same specs.
Easier to find photos of it there too.

Re: Front boom for CCKW with winch
These were purpose manufactured for the CCKW and Chev 4X4 and plentiful in the 50's-60's many of the larger Army dealers stocked them. They came ready to install with rigging to attach included. There is a photo of one on a CCKW in the Hardcover GMC/DUKW Book with a greenish cover printed in Europe, I have three or four copies burried somewhere.
