Question about Diamond T 4-ton 6x6 truck.

I have done a little research on this truck to find that about 9500 cargo models were built with about 30,000 examples built of several different variants. How difficult would closed cab parts be to find for this truck? I am pretty certain a cargo bed would be near impossible to find. Does anyone have any input on this subject?

I believe that Jack is building a cargo body on his 969 chassis for utility and the scarceness of 969 body/cranes.
From a W&T article a looonng time ago, the wooden bodies are more-or-less the same except for overall sizes and special brackets for, say, spare wheels.
A mate of mine has an FWD TM that has very detailed drawings and sizes for its' wooden cargo body. Bracketry seems identical across the different trucks, but I have no proof of that.

Also, a while back, Nick in Europe set me some pictures of his wood bodied 968, a truly beautiful truck.

Jack built a wooden cargo bed for a Diamond T using a lot of the steel components from Studebaker US6 wooden bodies most of which I supplied from a couple I had dismantled because the timber was too far gone. I saw the bed at Corowa and it looked excellent. He also steam bent the timber for the canopy bows.
The Stude wooden body is identical to that used on the CCKW.
Some years ago a club member built a body for a FWD HAR1 using components from a Stude body (the FWD bed is wider).
The wooden bodies on the various trucks pretty much use the same componentry but are different lengths and widths. Using the steel parts from any of the WW2 military beds it is simply a matter of machining the timber to the dimensions required to create a suitable bed for whatever vehicle you wish.
I believe that the only steel work that may have to be modified is the frame for the tailgate and the attachment angle below due to differences in width.
Also of course the rub strips on the floor may not be reusable due to length and or hole spacing.

I MUST applaud the guys who have built their own beds. It does take a lot of work. I am sure there are others here who would enjoy seeing pictures of that work, I know I would.
