Must See New Zealand Rebuilding WW2 Combat Vehicles

Post by 70th Division » Wed May 30, 2018 5:50 pm

Hello,

Here is a GREAT video of the New Zealand Auto Assembly Plants ( Ford, GMC, Dodge Affiliate) rebuilding worn out, broken down combat vehicles brought in from the islands during WW2, being rebuilt and sent back to US Army Forces in the Pacific Theater
of Operations.
(From New Zealand Archives)

Very thorough re-manufacturing, and very interesting !!
Jeeps, GMC's Dodges !!!!

What an AWESME video. Lots to see!

Any jeep guys notice the slat grills - like around 4:05 to 4:30?

Also think its cool that you get a free jeep with every CCKW. :)

Best Regards...

Hello,

Yes I saw those nice slat grill jeeps being rebuilt.
Did you notice that one Slat now had a GPW frame under it ?
Wartime rebuild, and things were already getting swapped around :D :D :D
