Steering Wheel Bolts? G506

Post by TexasG506 » Sun Mar 12, 2023 11:50 am

Hi all,

Does anyone know the bolts needed to pull the steering wheel off a g506? Can’t seem to track down the bolts and can’t find them mentioned in the manual. Have a steering wheel puller but need the 2 bolts to connect it to the wheel.

If You attempt to use the threaded inserts that are in the steering wheel of your truck, you will only succeed in pulling them out of the wheel like pulling healthy teeth from your head. :o. I speak from First Hand experience.

This is the proper steering wheel puller to use, or one just like.

The steering wheels are under tremendous compression from the factory PLUS 80 years of being in place. The center nut must be cracked loose, turned out by just a few threads BUT NOT REMOVED, an adapter plug is inserted into the steering shaft and the puller is then fitted to the wheel. An impact driver is used to pop the wheel loose. After it is loose it can be removed the rest of the way by hand. Good Luck Sir!
