Post by Jon Lewis » Sat Oct 22, 2022 5:12 am

First were all black plastic.

Second were all OD plastic.

Third were OD plastic outer w/metal center.

How hard are 2nd pattern to find?

I would say fairly difficult to find. I've never seen an all OD Bakelite 3/4 ton Dodge WC steering wheel. Only the early all black Bakelite and the later metal spoke wheels with the OD ring.

Thanks for your comments. I have one on my WC-52, but its not easy being green, as you can see.

Side note: I was just reading some of your info on WC seats; love your posts!

Have a solid OD one as a replacement (I installed in '88) on my '42 WC56, always wondered if it was a French thing being OD. Only issue I have ever had with it is the center seems too tight for the horn button and one time it stayed down until the horn wire caught fire.
