TECHNICAL QUESTION FOR AN AUTO ELECTRICAL EXPERT
So, the meter in a military instrument panel ha 24 volts going to the OIL PRESSURE METER and that is attached to one side of the meter. The Sender unit puts out 10-180 ohms versus ground on the side of the sender that is screwed into the engine block. DOES THE SENDER show high resistance when engine oil pressure is at 0 psi or when it sees 80 psi? Trying to figure out which???? Because I want to a. wants to ‘net in’ the oil pressure gauge with small resistors to make it more accurate to top of scale…. Can anyone direct me to an INTERNAL pressure meter wiring diagram that shows the various resistance levels???? I have an M151 pressure sender that shows 10 ohms when 0 pressure - is that standard or normal?
