Tire balancing with tubes??

Post by Travelfix » Sat Apr 16, 2022 5:45 am

Can tires with tubes be balanced?? I had a set of 8:25x20 tires installed a while back and was told by the truck tire place that tires with tubes can't be balanced. Is this true?? In my collecting career I've had M38 jeep tires with tubes balanced. The tire shop that told me this is no small operation. They have construction equipment they're working on with tires bigger than my 1 1/2 ton chevy.

Yes they can be balanced. Not sure why a reputable shop would say otherwise???

Yes, of course they can
Millions of cars built in the 1950s and earlier had tubed tires that were balanced
Some of our wheels are tough, especially the combat or bolt togethers
I have an older bubble balancer i use
Works great
