Got it- Rescued Composite G-506 bed
A while ago I found a composite bed at a farm sale- finally got it home. Data plates are tired- maybe a '44? Lots of parts there and all wood for patterns. even the plywood tool box remains. Main stringers are there- the U bolts were torched off. Rear mount is unusual tho. It is a big mount plate bolted to each stringer. Anyway the bed maybe spoken for as I don't need this project. Future will tell. Photos here for everyone to check out. Newc

Great save Dale!
Just curious...
What are these for? And this too, Is it for the front of the tool box? I searched for your composite bed re build, couldn't find it.
Thanks for posting the pics.

Ok: The steel plates on each stringer [rear] are the rear bed mounts! kind of different. ? And the blocks with groves in them locate the front board of the tool box, also some locate the bed mount 'U' bolts- My restored bed has those on it. This bed has all the little oddities on it. I never posted my rebuild of my '44 bed, pre the G. Newc

Thanks NEWC, I am very happy to have been able to buy this bed from you !! In the past 4 years I have 5 Chevy Beds fall right into my lap. What is the old "Supply Sgt. in the Sky" trying to tell me? . I guess another cab and chassis will come my way soon too .
