Hi everyone.
This is my first post, already I can see this forum is a wealth of knowledge.
I am slowly restoring a wc54 and I'm hoping someone can help with a few issues.
I bought new bushes for the springs and shackles from a large dealer in the Netherlands, I won't say who, and I'm unsure if they are correct, or I'm just being a bit daft!
The new bushes will not fit the lubricating pins inside at all, so do these under common practice need to be reamed or should they come correct sized to take the pins?
Also the shackle bushes which are much thinner walled are somehow the same thickness so there is no chance they would also fit the pins inside.
Am i being daft and is reaming common practice during this operation or are the parts just sub standard? If reaming is, what's a good kit to do the job?
Many thanks
Paul

In aus , i know all the bushes that I’ve gotten have to be reamed ,
I get mine from a Bearing place and they get the correct o.d of the bush to suit what your after but the I.d is always smaller.
My opinion it’s better to ream it to suit

Thanks for the reply.
I guess I shall have to buy an expanding hand reamer. How tight should these bushes be on the lube pins? Able to spin by hand, or just a tap in finish?
I guess I'm used to Land Rover parts!
I have just been informed the shackle bushes are the wrong ones, so at least I know I wasn't having a funny five minutes there.

Oh right ok then ,
Anyway they should be right but able to push in with your hand but with a bit of force or a slight tap , you just don’t want any movement
