1944 Dodge WC-52 for sale.
Hi all.
I'm new to G503, hope it's O.K. that I post a vehicle for sale here!
It's a 1944 Dodge WC-52. Mostly complete. Been titled and insured. A roller as they say.
Comes with a fair number of new and NOS spare parts. Six original "combat" rims. Has the seats (buckets) and the springs for the bottom cushion but not the back.
Has 5 new tires, and rim strips, new (reproduction) spare mount from Midwest Mil. (super heavy duty).
Gas tank is from an M-37 but is pretty close, no?
New bed kit, still in the box. Some dent's and dings, all the cloth and leather are gone but the steel is in pretty good shape.
Some rust through in spots, in the tool boxes. No cover. No glass.
Wiring is gone but she's really in overall good shape I think.
Engine turns over, but it all should be gone through. Previous owner had it running from a gas can. It's 12 volt.
New gas and brake lines, only some installed, new master and slave cylinders, new draft pad, original generator with NOS armature, bunch of nuts and bolts.
I'm looking to get 5000. But I might consider a trade for a Canadian Military Pattern (Chevy) C-15 in about the same condition.
Thanks!
Tried to add photos but they're "too large"? I have plenty of photos and take take more if needed!

I always look in the Power Wagon Forum for Dodge trucks, but some are here too. I look at this one for the lesser quality trucks, like chevys, etc. Just me I guess.

So, what are you saying? That this vehicle may be of lesser quality? I don't see where you're going. This sounds like a nice one to me.

A few photos of the WC-52. Not sure what this really might be worth. I bought it for 6500, and have about 2k in parts in it. But I might have paid too much for it. It does have rust spots, and I don't want to over value it. The tires, they were about 250 each and there's five of them.

How did you go from $5K to $8K in a matter of 2 posts?

I think you'll find that there's 3 grand in parts (new) just laying there waiting to be put on.

Re: 1944 Dodge WC-52 for sale.
Why the significant up in price?
Well, I've got a lot into it.
I'm in my early 50's and lost my job just days before last Christmas and have been struggling mightily ever since.
Then I receive an insulting low-ball offer of three thousand and another to "part out" the truck.
I can't afford any of that and so I'm putting it much closer to what I have into it.
Anyone else buying this truck at the time would have paid the very same as I did. Parts would have cost the same, and this was nearly ten years ago, prices have gone up.
I'm not trying to be difficult, I need to sell it, but I can't afford to give it away either.

According to his profile, these were his only posts. Nothing on the forum since or before. My guess is that he sold it for the original 5k and has moved on.

Hi everyone.
Yes, it did sell.
A collector with more time and funds has given it the attention it really needed. If I recall correctly it went close to 6k.
I'm working again, and now have posted another project, 42' Ford GPW. It would be a neat project but I don't need (well, can't justify) two jeeps!

Re: 1944 Dodge WC-52 for sale.
Congrats, JDJ! Fair market value is an interesting topic- I've sold Slatgrill axles that cost more than entire jeeps, and I have also lost thousands on project vehicles as well. Timing of the sale is a factor as well. Glad to hear that you were content enough with the price to sell it, and now have moved on to other money-pit projects
