David, was asking about your restoration as i am starting a restoration of a 1934 military KH31. Its a truck my grandfather purchased in 1944. Would love to see pictures of the completed truck.

Hello Vern,
Sorry for the slow reply. The truck looks about the same as the last photo I posted of it. My front fenders were in such poor shape, I started the search for another pair, and that stalled momentum on the project. I still haven't found a pair worth having..
I would love to see photos of your grandfather's truck! Please post some..
Good luck with your project!
David

Thanks DRH and Gordon!
Yes, it's been way too long since I've worked on this project. I will say that Vern's recent post has revived my interest in getting back on it..
Here are my fenders. When I bought my donor chassis, I went dumpster-diving, (literally), for the fenders the guy had cut up when he took the cab off the truck. He had bought a new plasma cutter, and practiced with it by slicing up the fenders. I took them home, and tack-welded the pieces back together. They can be repaired, but dang! Vern,
It looks like you have a wonderful truck to work with there...and it has a family history to boot! I look forward to seeing it's progress!
Thanks, David

Hello David,
Love watching you were work your magic on the old Dodge. Really enjoyed the photo of the engine block with the exposed water jackets. There probably are not many around like that. Believe CC switched to the closed water jackets blocks around 1935 or so. Those suicide doors are something else. Like they say... “It’s Mopar or no car”. Have a nice weekend and keep up the great work.

Even though I am a Chevy guy, I really like seeing these prewar Dodges. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 1935 Dodge KH31 restoration
Well, it's been about a year since I posted anything on the '35 Dodge, but an unexpected prolonged hard freeze here in Texas this winter brought renewed interest in the project. When the pipes froze in the office and bathroom at my shop, the area where the truck was stored was flooded. I had to pull it out of storage, and once out in the open again, I knew I had to get back on it...
This weekend I pulled all the sandblasted sheet metal out of a sea can, lined it up and put all the bolts in it to see what I had to work with. Although it's worse than what I wanted to start with, it really isn't all that bad as I remembered!
Thanks, David

Re: 1935 Dodge KH31 restoration
Had an extremely fortunate thing happen last weekend in that I finally found the grille guard for my 1935 truck. I went to check out the progress on a friend's CJ5 Jeep restoration, and was browsing his scrap pile when I saw this:
