Okay Gents, you guys asked for some photos of the 'new to me' Chevy. All the details have been worked out and I am going to pick Emmaline up this Saturday. Here is one photo to whet your whistle. Just a teaser. Ya' understand? :)
She has been Bubbafied a bit, but I intend to correct all that is incorrect.

Update: 02-April-2016, 2142 hrs.
First I want to thank my good friend Cody, (PintelHook11over), for driving me to get Emma. She is tucked away at NavComMechCenWest, Alpha Co. SeaBee Hdqts. :)
Emma is a 6NJ22 and here are some photos of what I had done in 2011, and what I must do to De-Bubbafy Her.

The Bed has been hacked, but I can fix it or go rescue the one I found that is lying in the desert.
Image

She needs work, yes. But the drive train and running gear have had less than 1500 miles put on it since I last saw it in fall 2012. She is dirty form living on the previous owners property in the mountains of Temecula for the past 3 years. So, I can't wait to get cleaning, wrenching, and painting. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Thanks for looking guys. :)

Alright! Way to go Dave!
Is Emmaline coming to Burbank or staying near unit 389946?

She must move along pretty well with the Up sized motor, 5 speed and 8-1/4 tires. Is that a stock Chevy gas tank that's been side mounted, looks good.

I see you've got overload springs. Were those from Bubba or is this yet another G506 tractor coming out of the woodwork?

Thad, she will live at Alpha Co. until I can get her legal and more presentable.

Kelley, with what Burbank Speed and Machine did to the engine (195 H.P.), she moves along the hwy. quite nicely. Cody told me that on level ground we were averaging 48 to 60 M.'s P.H. I was keeping an eye on the tach. the previous owner installed and was turning around 2500 R.'s P.M. at fastest speed. Don't want to go much faster than that. Just want to stay at the minimum legal hwy. speed here in Ca., which is 45.

John, yes the overload springs were installed by the Galleano Winery in Jurupa Valley Cal. The stops were merely bolted on and I removed them back in 2011. This truck was just a "Plain Jane" cargo from the factory. So, the Bubba-Hoist will come out and the holes in the frame will be welded closed.

A C.H.P. S.U.V. got on the freeway about 3 minutes after we did. I saw Him in the left turn lane in opposite traffic on the street. The truck is out of registration by Apr. 2014 and I was hoping He wouldn't see the license plate. He zoomed past us in the #1 lane and just kept right on going. WHEEEEEWWW!! :)

I have started to collect a few small parts for Emma. One of the most important, I think, is a locking Glove Box. I found this on E-bay, total price $50.00. The keys are embossed with the G.M. logo. Don't know what I am gonna do about the chrome yet, but I'll figure something out.

Well Gents, Cody and I are whipping Alpha Co. into shape so that work may commence at an unhindered pace. Lotsa weeding to be done, and we are almost finished. I gotta tell ya that it is nice to have a place to go wrench with like minded friends.
I received some parts over the past few days, and By God it was high time that forward progress be made on Emma.

Here is the Oil Cup and Breather for the Oil Fill Tube I had been looking for. They came from Frank Von Rosenstiel. Thanks Frank!
Image

Here is the Oil Fill Tube Assy. ready for the hot tank and then paint.
Image

All painted and ready for installation.
Image

Everything installed. Notice the Jam Nut I installed on top of the Wing Nut that holds the Breather and Cup in place. I don't want to loose this one.

I Haaaate Ballast Resistors. I read an article a few days ago about a guy who is building HEI distributors for old 6 cyl. engines. Turns out the guy discovered that Ballast Resistors inhibit spark to the spark plugs, hence limiting a complete combustion. Anyway, I installed an Internally Resisted Coil and rewired it so that the Red was Pos., and Black was Neg. The green wire was for a digital tachometer that someone installed. It was kinda functioning, but kinda not. It had to go, and this time when I cut the green wire, I did not experience an explosion. :) .

Before and After pics.

The blue plug wires will make their way into the round file soon as well.

Well Gents, it has been 370 days since I bought Emmaline. After becoming stable in my new environs, I sent for my Old Girl and She arrived 6 weeks ago. I have recovered all the parts I can think of right now, and I am excited to have been able to make some progress get my hands dirty today. And Boy, what progress I made. I must say that it was a very pretty day for making things right on this truck!!

Here is the "Hinge Pin" for the Bubberfied hoist assembly. Yes, that is irrigation pipe being used.
Image

Here is a view forward of the hoist mounted to the frame.
Image

I used my angle grinder and a cut-off wheel for this result.
Image

The "Pin" slid out easier than I had thought. And NO, it is NOT going to be used for anything else. In fact, it went straight into the recycling bin.
Image
Image
Image

Some photos of the Hinge Plates, that I kept.
Image
Image
Image

I built this low and manageable Gantry just for this exercise. I just needed to get the bed up a few inches off the frame.
Image
Image
Image

I am just about to drive Emma out from under the "Hacked Bed".
Image
Image

What a GREAT sight to behold!!
Image
Image

NOW, the serious fun begins!!!
Image

At this point, I had to stop what I was doing and pay a visit to Lowes Hdwr. I managed to let the magic smoke OUT of my Craftsman Grinder that was only 18 months old. I bought a very nice 11 amp. DeWalt to replace it, and continued slicing.
Image
Image

AAAAAHHH, On the ground!!!
Image

Next to go is the hoist. I don't even know if it is W.W. 2 issue or just some civvy one that was thrown in there.
Image

Stand fast men!! More to come in the ensuing future!! Thanks for looking :) .
