Thanks my friends! Looking back, it has been a rough ride, but it definately pays off! And each one of you is a part of this; without your priceless assistance I couldn't have gotten so far.

Hey Julio,
It's been a while thanks for the update, your truck really looks great. Can you post a few more pics of that amazing cargo box you built? I'm a big fan of improvisation. It's hard to tell in the photo, did you also make the bumpers?

Hi Jon, thanks! I'll take more detailed pics of the bed next week, then I'll post them here. The bumpers are original!kelley wrote:Hey Julio,

I'm back!
I changed the 4-speed transmission for the warner 5-speed. It got marvelous. Now I need to cut the floor board to adapt to the new bigger gearbox.
Here are some shots taken today:

Juliooooooooooo!!! Brother, your truck looks great !!! I like the symbol on your door, does it have something to do with Your National Flag? Take a look at how Pintelhook11over made a safety chain for his spare tire carrier. Having heard first hand testimony from an old W.W. 2 driver, these things had a habit of falling all by themselves resulting in a bent carrier. Also, would you like to see some photos of my rear inner tube extensions? They make inflation and deflation a breeze. Dave.
P.S. Great move with the 5 speed trans., you'll enjoy it.

Yes! The symbol in the doors, bumper and hood is the Southern Cross (Crux), a national symbol of Brazil and also the former vehicle markings of Brazilian Army during the war, when we sent the Brazilian Expeditionary Force to fight in Italy. Here you can see their trucks with the round markings during the Italian winter of 44-45:D.R.H. wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 6:26 pmJuliooooooooooo!!! Brother, your truck looks great !!! Wow, I have to look at this safety chain! Haven't though of that, since I strapped that tire so tight. I do want to see the photos of tube extensions!

My advices I would give to you Julio would be to start looking around for your next project, it looks like your Chevy is just about finished. Great job on the whole truck, you and your buddies have a lot of skills. I'd be interested to see how the new transmission looks inside the cab and how you rigged up the transfer case shifters.

Hello Julio,
You have done a fantastic job with all your hard work on your beautiful truck !!!!
You have preserved a great piece of your country's WW2 Heritage ,
it honors of the Brazilian Troops who fought German Forces during the World War 2 !!
I hope you can find some WW2 Veterans in your country to share with them, your and their, Vehicle of Victory
Do they teach WW2 history to the kids in Brazil, I hope they do, it is pretty poorly taught in US schools , in my opinion .
You can teach them with your truck for sure
We all try to do our part in preserving and remembering the sacrifices that the Veterans made for us all !
Best Regards,
Ray
