Hi Kirk,
apologies for not posting sooner. Many thanks, my stencils arrived safely, and they are a work of art! Thank you for taking on this project, and for the attention to detail.
Loving your work!

Kirk,
Just another shoutout to you for your work on this. I assembled my windshield this weekend and etched the last two panes of glass. Now all five are in the truck and look great.

Re: FS - Chevy G506 glass etching stencils
I'll double check, but I am pretty sure that the closest I currently have are dated 6-42. There is a remote chance I may be doing another batch, but so far only have one other interested party. I'm going to need better photos than what I've received so far ffor that project to even be feasible...

Re: FS - Chevy G506 glass etching stencils
Bubbling this back up in response to a couple of recent inquiries...
The dates I currently have available include:
1-41 (gone)
4-42 (1 set)
6 - 42 (gone)
9 - 42 (2 sets)
1 - 43 (2 sets)
6 - 43 (2 sets)
11 - 43 (1 set)
1 - 44 (1 set)
6 - 44 (gone)
10 - 44 (gone)
12 - 44 (1 set)
4 - 45 (1 set)
Glass dates were typically 1-3 months before the DOD. Price in the US is still only $25 USD for a set of stencils and first class postage. Postage outside of the US will be quoted based on postage costs.

Hello Kirk, besides the one you already have pulled for me, please set aside a 1-44 for me, and the payment will be in the mail in the morning. Thanks for posting this, and again, very much for doing these and making them possible. Dave.

Kirk, postal money order for $50.00 is in the mail as of this morning. It sure will be nice to fill in the empty spaces in my windshield. Thank you again for making this possible, Dave.

Re: FS - Chevy G506 glass etching stencils
Hello,
Thanks Kirk for offering these up!
In looking at the trucks to determine what I needed, I noticed the passenger side windshield lettering is thicker on the passenger side than the driver's side on my Ward La France series 5 wrecker. The date on the driver's side is very clear and easy to read the 3-45. Pass side shows 3-48? The "8' is tough to read so not sure that's correct but that makes better sense than 40 or 43 since the truck is a 1945.
I also notice a difference in the quality of the glass. The "newer?" side does not have near the bubbling in between the layers along the cracks as opposed to the 3-45 dated side.
Question to the experts: when did the lettering (font) get thicker-post war I'm guessing?
Thanks, Jim
P.S. the WLF does not have doors so after I use the windshield stencils out of my 4-45 kit the rest will be available if someone needs it.

Re: FS - Chevy G506 glass etching stencils
Hi Jim,
The research that went into these stencils was pretty laser focused, and is based on photos and observations limited to just the G506 family of trucks. I am happy to hear that you've found them to alo be useful on other familes of trucks! There may be other uses too, I just can't claim to know ANYTHING about the other possible uses Even the G506 trucks was a remarkably small sample of trucks and window glass, but there was enough commonality to make our assumptions plausible.
You might try raising your question about the WLF glass on the 2-1/2 ton forum, and see if you get any feedback.
If you drum up enough interest, we could look into a run of stencils for those trucks that didn't include all the stencils you don't need...
I suppose the same might hold true for open cab CCKWs as well??

Hey Kirk,
I still need one 1-41 side window stencil if you happen to find one.

Hello Kirk,
Letting you know the stencils arrived in the Monday mail . Wasn't sure if there would be delivery today or not. Thanks again,
Dave.

Re: FS - Chevy G506 glass etching stencils
Hi Paul,
I checked and don't have any more stencils with that date. I think I have enough interest to justify another run, so will include another set of 1-41 when I do.
