Is that knob on the far right of the glovebox a Heater switch or a Cigarette Lighter?

CCKW 353 71908 A1
built on contract W-398-QM-10890, TC#200187 at the Yellow Truck Plant, Pontiac MI
It is one of 806 built on that TC.
USA Registration Numbers for that TC were 498053 to 498858
CCKW 353 71970 A1 was 498551 and that is the closest truck I have in the database to your truck.

I would like to see a photo of your data plate, if it still has it.
As Joe said, the plate is on the inside of the cab and centered on the firewall just forward of the shifter.

As for the cargo bed on the other truck, it looks early CCKW to me. Maybe you found the original bed for your truck?

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the information. It has no data plate. Looks like I need most of the rear drive train parts. The two trucks came from the same company. They sat in their warehouse/home since 1958. Just brought out a couple of years ago (after moving the furniture out of the way). They were Polish immigrants. They lived here most of their lives, and the wife, in her 90s still couldn’t speak a lick of English. Anyway, the front end is in beautiful condition besides the peeling red paint. I believe the two switches on the right side of the dash are for the heater below them. The trucks probably came from a company who converted them for better suitability for civilian use. The cargo bed does have a data plate. Are these tracable to the truck they came from? It’s really rotten. I may measure it, have one made, instead of buying the whole truck to get it. Lots of questions. Ill probably start a thread in the appropriate category though.

It is my understanding that the data plates on the bed are not related to the actual chassis on which it was installed. Beds made separately and installed at the factory depending on which version of the chassis was being assembled. So, if original to the truck, might shed some light on DOD, but not much else.

With most early CCKW, the registration number is also on the tailgate of the bed. If you find it, I may be able to narrow the DOD.

FYI. 498820 on hood in blue characters. Marked in 2” and 4”. I dont know which was first. No star on hood. White star on door. “MOONGLOW” stenciled on door. That was a popular song of that era.

You now have your truck's original hood number and it's name Moonglow. I'll see if we can narrow your DOD.
