42cargo wrote:Production will begin once the vendor has 10 pre-orders in place. This can be a mix of G508 and G506 units. To preorder, you will need to contact the vendor (see below) and provide your credit card information. He will not charge the card until we have the first 10 orders in place. The cost will be $165 per unit, plus shipping. Each pad will be sent flat to reduce shipping costs. Assembly will require five split rivets, which will be included.

Thanks for your time and interest in this project.

Just a quick heads up. When I recently ordered mine, John indicated that the price would be going up effective immediately. He didn't go into any detail on why, but honored the price posted here for my order. Be sure to verify the price when you order. That said, this is the culmination of a remarkable project; and we all owe John and John a thank you for allowing this to happen!

If they are the same for an open cab CCKW as well as the 1.5 Chevy, than 2 would be good for us. Do you have an idea of when they would be available so that I could plan for it $$ wise? I have a lot of projects going on at once;)!

The firewall pads are different between the CCKW and the Chevy, but the good news is that John (at Midwest Military) is making both. They are available now, so you better get working on your budget!

For those who bought these, has anyone had any luck sourcing the firewall fasteners?

They are pictured here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=223612&start=92

Here is one that I am currently looking into:

Anyone interested, or does everyone have what they need??

Back when I had a NOS quantity of these original G-508 Firewall Pads The Clips could be found in a small manilla envelope attached to the pads. I found some extras in Diamond T marked envelopes, but they are all gone for the time being.

I don't believe you will come any closer. I may be interested in a hand full for the NOS CCKW Pads I have left.

I just ordered a firewall pad for my Chevy, I paid $221.07 shipped. Turn around was about a week.

If not already done on the repros, locate and prepunch the screw holes for the data plate, it will make the job simpler.
