Looking for a couple NOS Red Plastic GAMA GOAT Taillight Lenses.

You need to be careful about the red ones. A ton were made incorrectly. The details of the red lens, fluting etc, do not sit horizontal as they are supposed to when mounted to the lamp housing. If you just want an all red lens they are fine. I went through several sets to get correct ones.

That's minor compared to what the Army thought they were getting when they bought the Goats, I like them just for their tail lights.

Haha! No kidding. A friend and I bought the first Gamma Goats to come out of auction back in the early seventies, the whole bunch were XM-561s. We were young and dumb, where were we going to get parts for those? Happily someone came along who wanted them more than we did, made a pretty penny and washed our hands of them. I then bought basically a brand new one from Barstow (13 miles on the odometer) less engine, that was a beauty that I should never have let go of. But you know how the crowd that does surplus goes absolutely nutz trying to get the latest thing. So someone came along and offered me stupid money for it and I took it. I had a couple more over the years, and they are tuff to live with, that includes maintenance and even driving them. Gutless as the day is long and twice as noisy.

Best thing about the M-561 was the ample surplus supply of 11.00 x 18 Tires that Duck owners welcomed. One could get seasick following one down I-95 when the Maine Army Guard had them. They were gone in a year.

Did you get the lenses? And were they "straight"?

I remembered the comment and gave them a sort of half assed look, it appeared that the pattern on the lenses do line up with the bulbs. Will go take a peek in a while. I'll be happy as long as Service Tail and Service Stop are more evident. Will put them on in spring and connect the Service Stop and Tail for both sides.
These are about the only good feature about the Gama Goat, in addition to the 11.00X18 Tires and the NOS Surplus GM 3-53 Diesels they created.
