wow thats alot of good pics! im not totally versed on army markings, and especially not of ww2 era (presently i spend time on my 94 m998a1 and a 53 usmc m38a1) but one pic has a truck with 'b40' on the bumper. i wonder if that is a bravo company truck 4 trucks removed from my grandfather's?
It is definitely 4 trucks removed. Like I said, your grandfather most likely ate chow with these guys on a regular basis

i have maybe a dozen photos from his time in europe, and maybe 2 more have the truck in them. there is one i believe with about 4 of them strapped to a pole high off the ground, posing. ill scan then and post if they are relevant.
Any Photos of Signal Construction Units are very relevant to me. Every bit of information and photo helps with my research into the subject. I would be greatly appreciative if you decide to share your grandfathers photos with me!

thanks for the pics and the info. He isnt around to ask about this stuff anymore.
You are so very welcome. I very much enjoy sharing info and talking with vet and family of the Signal Construction Battalions. My grandfather served in the 33rd Signal Construction Battalion, so this has been a life long love.

Scanned the other photos that were pertinent to the thread.

I notice that the aforementioned mirror scope seems to have "RUTH" written on it. Not sure who that was but I guess he hadn't met my grandmother yet.

The front of the hood says "Don" which was his name.

"This is my team. They are a swell bunch of boys"

"Some of the team"

"me and B44 (old faithful)"

That last caption implies that he enjoyed his K43.
