Hi all, I just purchased a Studebaker M29 Weasel, I am attempting to identify the tracks, and hope someone out there knows what type of track I have.
The rubber track segments have two separate double rows of 40 pitch chain molded into the rubber pad itself. The part the chain attaches to is brass with a hole for the bolt a weird 11MM x 1.5 metric mounting bolt. The track center guides are made of Brass as well. So each track segment utilizes 3 rubber pads two outboard and 1 inner section for a total of 6 sections of double roller chain. any ideas anyone?

Sounds like French tracks. Very heavy and use lots of horsepower.

I kinda figured it must be European because of the metric hardware.

Yes, there are French and kinda odd. 6 rows of 40 pitch double roller chain links connect each track segment. All were originally somewhat molded into a hard type of rubber, with the two centers double roller chains having the projected street pad molded on to them. Probably O.K when new real pain in the rear when old. We are currently rebuilding ours with the chain system, I will put up pictures when done.
