Hello,

Take a look at the top front, passenger side frame rail, or top of bumper in that area.
You should find a number stamped there as well related to the M-15 .
I can't get to mine now, but it is I think the original hood number stamped there if I remember right.
I will try to get a look at mine to confirm. Also an Autocar.

Best Regards,
Ray

Hey who out there in the Halftrack world has fuel tank's... I'm gonna need one. In the bottom look's like layer's of lasagna but that's easily cleaned out, what concern's me is the tank it's self seem's very weak and delicate and could come apart at any time while driving.

multiple layers of fuel tank liner really strengthen a tank. just make sure it super clean first.

Remember it was designed to be super gooey self sealing in the advent of bullets entering it. So 80 years later, showing it to a good welding shop and having one made of stainless might be an option for long term usability (in displays VS. Combat)

I had mine made out of steel (forget but believe stainless) with baffles by a friend, used the original hardware from the rubber tanks, had the outside rhino lined in a dull rubber like finish and coated the inside. My steel tanks have been in service for 12 yrs with no issues.

My M16A1 was converted from a M3A1 in the early 50s. Later, new all Goodyear rubber tanks were installed. 100% rubber and are in perfect condition. cleaned and tested with alcohol free gas and no issues. I became aware of this type of tank in europe, as many collectors had them in their halftracks and they were performing very well.

Say no to alcohol infused gasoline.

When the gas cap ring is bolted on , the tank is rubber and todays gas will eat right thru the tank, DO NOT USE THESE TANKS!
Many guys in the past use one as a hole filler and buy one new made tank for driving.
