How many Israeli half tracks made their way back to the United States? How many are still in their original Israeli configuration?

Re: Israeli Half Tacks
I've read elsewhere that around 3000 were scrapped!!! There were a number of pictures at that time of Halftracks on their way to the scrapper and they were in incredible shape! What a SHAME!! I wanted to cry seeing those pictures!!
I suspect very few made their way back to the US.

If you want to see one in the flesh, Liberty Aviation Museum (Port Clinton, Ohio) has a very nice one.
www.libertyaviationmuseum.org
It's a very nice museum overall with many excellent treasures.
