For Sale: M2A1 White Roller Model Halftrack

Post by SuperJeep » Wed Apr 28, 2021 11:17 am

M2A1 White Roller Model Halftrack with pretty complete rear bed. Very nice frame on this one. It’s a project but not many out there with the beds still on them.
At an added cost I can supply almost every part needed to restore this halftrack.
Asking $14,500
Located in libertyville Illinois about 35 miles north of Chicago

Nobody said you can’t make an offer or ask to have all the armor, the rebuilt engine I have, a set of new tracks or anything else thrown in the deal. You never know, I might just say yes.
A lot can change in 10 years.....I remember just 6 months ago gas prices were a lot less than they are now.

You know Superjeep, it's ironic that one of the commentators on your post made a living out of selling parts at ridiculous prices and even more ridiculous shipping charges.

Superjeep
Don’t feel bad. I would buy it for the 13500 in a heart beat if I wasn’t already elbows deep in a White scout car. And everyone knows what original rare parts for these machines cost. Bottom line, you either pony up when you see it and you want it or move along. Nothing I’ve bought that I really wanted was a give away unless it was a piece of rusted useless cut up modified junk. Your track doesn’t appear to be like that.
I’m relatively new to armor in just the last few years. I’ve been in MB/GPWs all my life and boy have they jumped up in price. I kinda feel the same way about them, not much bargain basement deals anymore. But again, we are a long ways away from 2010 and this stuff isn’t growing on trees.
You either step up or you don’t. I looked at a lot of basket case junk before I bought my scout and a trailer full of original parts and armor. I gave the man his money.

Considering what most people start with, there is a heck of alot there some hard to find parts too. The price your asking is more than fair. We all know it will take some time and money regardless of the starting point. Id buy it if I didn't have a halftrack already. Someone will get a nice starter restoration! Good luck superjeep, hopefully she goes to a good home!

Hammerhead,
Yes very ironic indeed considering who I bought this from😉

Dawgman,
Thank you, you are exactly right!!

R.E.Co.,
Thank you. Whoever buys it will have one stop shopping if they choose to buy all the reproduction parts it needs at the same time.

Is the asking price too low, too high, or just right?

Might hinge upon your transport costs or something as simple as how much money you have to throw around.

To be fair, a lot of people only equate the monetary value of a vehicle solely in the 'DESTINATION'... i.e. ready to enjoy.

Others want to get their value out of the 'JOURNEY'... rolling up one's sleeves, making decisions about how far to go, learning about the vehicle from the ground up because you're the guy behind the wrench, and finally, getting the vehicle renewed or restored to an assembled and drivable level.

It is a fairly rare circumstance to find a half track in the form of one-stop-shopping, so if you are a person in the JOURNEY category, this might just be something you're looking for (or not).... and the seller DID say that the price had some wriggle room. Certainly a situation that is worthy of investigation, IMHO.

One might also consider a lot of disassembly has already been done which represents many, MANY hours of back-breaking labor (ask me how I know).

Just my thoughts on the subject.

Cheers,
GPW1263

For this amount of money and today’s digital cameras, I feel a series of good crisp detailed pictures are in order to show what your going to receive for this amount of money.
One distant blurry picture only sends out a lot of red flags in my book

SuperJeep is one of these most reliable, honest, and down to earth people you'll ever meet. The fact you'd insinuate the possibility he might scam someone because he only posted one picture is laughable considering the things you have done and prices you have charged to people in your life. The countless miserable experiences I have heard from other people who have dealt with you are incredibly disturbing. Dozens of people and I'm sure countless others.

If the only reason you posted a comment is to feel superior because of your previous history taking advantage of people like SuperJeep, you're sadly mistaken.
