M116 Husky engine

Does anyone know what the TM number for the engine in the M116 and M114 is? Or does anyone have one for sale? This is a modified 283 Chevrolet engine with a 305MC 4 speed automatic attached to it. Does anyone know what is the "modified" or difference between a truck/car 283 and the M114/M116 version? Thanks in advance for any help with this!

The M-113/M-114 is a late 50's-early 60's generic or standard 283 with the heavy duty truck block. There is nothing special or hopped up about the basic long block. The carburetor and intake are specific to the application as are the exhaust manifolds and waterpump. Not sure if I have an extra manual

Thanks for the info Joe! We just pulled the "pack" yesterday and now are in the process of disassembling the engine. this machine is very complete but has been sitting for 35 years. It looks as if 2 cylinders may have gotten water in them so I am expecting a rebore and some head work. I have a few core 283 engines for parts. It looks as if you have a few Husky parts? I probably will need a carb kit, a water pump bearing/seal kit and some generator bearings along with the engine parts. The M116 was a great over snow and muskeg vehicle for up here in Alaska when used by the Army/Army National Guard.

You can bore these HD Truck blocks to 327. I just traded a zero miles husky long block to a speed shop that builds hi class racing engines, it will soon be a 327 display engine with all the fancy stuff.

I have a nos carb for a m116 or m114 for 175 plus shipping.

Just got the engine apart, it got water into #3 cylinder some time in the last 30 years. Its pitted pretty deep. All the other cylinders are fine. We will sleeve and fit standard size pistons for it. Crankshaft is also standard and mic's out good.
