Does this fuel filter belong to a tracked vehicle?

Post by sam C. » Fri Oct 25, 2019 7:35 am

I ended up with this fuel filter, thinking it fit my MB. Mounting holes' locations are correct but the mount is thicker than that of my MB. The bowl fits the MB top, so that much is the same.
But the ports are larger and opposite of the correct MB/GPW filter top. So my MB's filter top has "IN" and "out" ports and those same ports are marked "Out" and "IN".
Someone thought it might go to a half track. Let me know, if you know.
Thanks in advance.

Sam

There is one of those mounted in my halftrack. It is behind the drivers seat, some are on the frame.

Thanks Gary!!!! That's what I wanted to hear. I'm going to sell it but I want to make sure as to what I have, so I don't mislead someone.
That's how I ended up with it. I bought it on the MB/GPW For Sale section and I was too new to the hobby to realize that it didn't fit my MB correctly. The seller either didn't know it wasn't correct, or didn't let on that it wasn't correct.

My T16 Universal Carrier has this filter on it, the T16 has 2 fuel tanks using the multiple inlets. Would say was popular for vehicles that used 2 tanks.

Any idea what this would be valued at? I'm glad to see it went to more than one vehicle.
