M2 questions and inventory pics.
I pulled the m2 and parts out of the shed this weekend. I organized the parts pieces to see what I have and what I needed. I did take a lot of photos but when I tried to post them they say file too large so am not sure how to do it. I will try again later.
I have a bunch of extra hoods all pieces if anyone is looking for some but they would have to be picked up here in Nebraska.
Are the brackets that hold the radiator armor to the frame available?
Also for those that are in the metal working field. I have some rear armor that is whole but has been welded into a bed. Is the technology out there to cut them out without destroying them? I could torch them out but fear the edges would be horrible. Might be a lost cause but hate to give up on original armor.
Any help appreciated.
Will try to get pics posted as I figure it out.

Re: M2 questions
You should be able to make nice cuts with a metal blade in an angle grinder. It would take time but should make nice cuts so you won't blow out any original material like you would with a torch. There is also a plasma cutter but that is a step up in cost and skill and not as forgiving if you wobble a little.

Re: M2 questions
I am using the method Clint posted. You can usually cut the welds thin enough and move the panel to crack the remaining weld material. I have also used a dead blow hammer to whack and crack the remaining weld, the hammer is plastic filled with lead shot so you won't mess up the plate.

Re: M2 questions
Good to know. I will give it a try. Might not be perfect but neither is this halftrack.
I am still having trouble with getting my pics small enough to post. I tried screen shots and reviewing the sticky on how to post photos but no luck. If anyone is up for it and knows how to post them I can text them. Or if you know how to do it with iPhone. Sorry I am not very bright.

Re: M2 questions
Ok. Probably posted too many pics but it was inventory day and the mission was to see what I had to work with from years back. Not trying to show off parts but thought some might be interested. As you can see I might have some extra. Wife helped me. She is smarter than I am.

Re: M2 questions and inventory pics.
That’s all the pics I have. It was a great day with my bother and dad. We spent most of the day trying to determine which of us was the favorite and fighting over the last piece of pie etc. We took the family to Jodeans in Yankton sd and my kids made pigs of themselves. It was a great weekend. I will have many more questions as we go and I appreciate having a group to go to. We know we don’t have everything but will get as far as we can with what we have and maybe have a plywood box. Won’t be taking it for judging anyway.
