Was Halftrack book at Aberdeen now Topeka

Post by ddoyle9570 » Mon Apr 20, 2015 4:32 pm

Hi guys,
In response to several private messages - I will be selling my new 456+ -page book US Half-Tracks (part 1) at Aberdeen (as well as my similar sized CCKW and DUKW books, and a few other titles as well), so long as the weather permits. This book covers the M2, M3, M5, M9 and the A1s (and A2).

My spaces are F9 and F10.

In the event of heavy rain, then I'll be at the National Archives doing research instead :)

I will also have these (and my full line of books) at the MVPA Convention in Topeka, where rain won't be a factor!

Looking forward to seeing some old friends at both places.

Best wishes,
David Doyle

David,
I just received your book and love it. I highly recommend it for all
Halftrack owners and enthusiasts!
When do you think volume two will be out?
Can't wait to see/read about the M16's!
Thanks
Jim

How can I get a copy? I will not be at the convention. Also, What other titles and prices do you have?
Thanks,

Steve A.

First, as to Jim's question regarding Volume 2, which covers the mortar carriers and gun motor carriages - I am not sure yet as to the release date, although I should have that information by the MVPA convention.

As to another question - the Half-track book includes 80 some-odd pages of archival photos and text concerning the White scout car.

As to Steve's question - for the next week I can supply the Half-Track books for $50 including via media mail to US addresses. Payment can be made by PayPal. The address for the PayPal payment is ddoyle9570 at America On Line.

As to my other titles, the DUKW book (304 pages) is $60 postage paid, and the CCKW (504 pages) is $70 postage paid (to US addresses).

Beyond those, I've written numerous other books, most in the 80-120 page range - but it would probably not be appropriate to list them all in this forum, so I'll try to put together a list and send it via PM.

Best wishes,
David Doyle

Is the information in the Scout Car section different than what is in the walk around book? (I am assuming you did that one too).

Thanks, Sam

Completely. The Scout Car Walk Around book featured an abbreviated history and photos of nicely restored vehicles.

The new halftrack book is 456 pages, 80-some of which are devoted to the scout car, and it has a much more extensive documentation, and all the photos except for the cover are vintage photos of original vehicles.

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
David Doyle
