Gary D sent me some pictures of a cable he bought, they have forged ends like a tank tow cable but a little smaller, I think they are for the Greyhounds, this picture was posted about something else but shows the cable very well,I'm sure they migrated to half-tracks at some point!

Reviving this effort...

I'm going to try to contact Nelson Wire Rope to get a tow cable made up...theirs looks closest to the one on page 85 of TM 9-710. The price sure beats the price of the other tow cables being sold on the G...anywhere from $250-$800...and those aren't accurate for the halftrack unless you claim they were "liberated" from another vehicle by the crew. :D

Anyone else need one?

My poor M-2 hasn't been on the road for 2 years now but if the price is right I would like to get one.

Can anyone post photos of actual half track tow cables? I have dozens of unidentified cables from the Littlefield auction and would be happy to sell any I don't need

Eye.I put up a print of this on the G in the armor or tracked section.

20 foot long 5/8 cable.

These also fit m20 and m8 do not know what else.It is just a smaller cable that could be used on lighter armored vehicles.Who knows what they did.

I ordered my tow cable and it should be here tomorrow...I'll post pics then.

I am not going to coordinate a group order as the price is the same whether we order one or a hundred. The 30-day price is $89.44, plus shipping. Shipping from PA to CA was $43 via UPS.

The POC at Nelson Wire is Bill McKay, (215)721-9333 or bmckay@nelsonwirerope.com.

Feel free to reference my name (Thomas Neill) or send me an email/PM and I'll provide the Invoice number to reference.

Have you tried to slip the ends over the bumper hooks? That would be my only issue, the eyes look a little tight.
