My pre-heater is a wick type as well.

Great restoration. Here's one we found in Colorado near Denver. Serial shows M7-2 and hoping to start the resto in the coming year.

Did you find any hood numbers?
Dave K. Dave Klink? I'd like to get back in contact with you.

Hello, My user name is RWJ and recently joined your chat board, Thank You! The restoration on the M_7 half track is awesome. I recently purchased one and have a lot of questions. Does anyone know the manufacturer of the undercarriage/ rollers/ and tracks? Is there any reproduction repair and operating manuals? Thanks engine turns over but want to clean fuel system before attempting to start it.

The frame and such were made by Allis Chalmers in West Allis Wisconsin. I'm working on one as well and would love to see photos of yours. Search M7 Snow Tractor on ebay and a dvd manual comes up.

This is what I'm starting from as found and with the ice shanty removed:

TM Numbers:
TM 9-774 Snow Tractor M7 and 1 Ton Trailer M19 (operation instructions)
TM 9-1774 Snow Tractor M7 and 1 Ton Trailer M19 Ordnance Maintenance (now called 'organizational maintenance')
Army Service Forces Catalog ORD 7-8-9 SNL G-194 and G-195 Tractor, Snow, M7 (T26E4) (Half-Track) and trailer....

I'm looking for the outer windshield frame. I have the inner frame.

Yes there are manuals! The TM 9-774 and TM 9-1774 are both available in free downloadable .pdf files. The quality is rather low.....looks to be copies of old photo copied manuals, but they are also free. You get what you pay for
The SNL G-194 and SNL G-195 is the parts book and a really nice reproduction is available from Portrayel Press. I think he also has the 774 and 1774 available if memory serves, and if they are the same quality as the parts book, would be excellent.
It is my understanding that new track belts are being made sometime in 2019 by Liberty Restoration in Iowa. Contact info is somewhere in the tracked threads at G503.com (where we are right now) . Might even be in this thread, but I do not have time to search at the moment.
Mine needs the engine heater stuff, but other than that is pretty intact. Mine is all disassembled at the moment, so if you need pictures of scattered parts, this is the time.
Still crazy after all these years.

My tracks are in pretty good shape, but they're a true weak link in the design, so I'd be in on purchasing a set! I'm sure there are a few of us who'll like spares / replacements. The more the merrier! My M7 also has a pretty large 'footprint' right now, being in pieces as well. If you hear of an outer windshield frame (the tubular assembly), please keep me in mind!
