gasoline additives (for WLA)

Post by tomasz » Sat Mar 27, 2021 10:26 am

Hallo
What gasoline additives are used in the USA? I mean the wla42 motor and its original cast iron valve seats.

I'm dutch (european), but why would one want to use additives in their gas/ fuel?
You can add a few drops of motor oil or 'Marvel's Mystery oil' to every tankfill, but it's not really necessary.

why?
Because modern gasoline does not contain lead tetraethyl (C8H20Pb). The original cast iron valve seats wear out quickly and burn out.
Some Dutch recommend this

In Poland we have one lead additive but I am iterresting what use the american frends.

I use Octane Supreme in my 42WLA http://wildbillscorvette.com/OctaneSupreme01.htm It adds lead tetraethyl to gasoline. I also use only gasoline that does not contain ethanol https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp
