Need Help ID Is this paratrooper cushman?

Post by signsup » Sat May 26, 2018 1:42 pm

This one was brought to my attention from a fellow affiliate member for a possible project. It is close enough for me to see it in person, but I know nothing about them. One obvious item is the fuel tank appears to be in the wrong position. Only got two photos, but any help appreciated. Don't need it if it is not the real deal.

Thanks in advance...

This was on eBay this past weekend and was availalble locally to me. The seller seemed like a bit of a jerk when I wrote him some questions. It sell with two bidders for $1,675. Hopefully, the buyer knows what he is getting, I sure don't.

The top frame rail that prevents this from being a walk through frame confuses me, it almost looks like a Cushman Eagle frmae with the top gas tank gone and a cylinder gas tank added forward of the seat. But then, the front fork suspension doesn't appear correct for anything Cushman that I can find.

Oh well, it's come and gone, I was just curious if anyone on the G could shed some light on what this frame and engine actually were from.

Not sure what this yellow one is, but for sure it has got nothing to do with a military World War 2 Cushman Model 53 airborne scooter!

But, it was on eBay...so it must be the real deal. No one would ever misrepresent an item on eBay . . . would they?

Sold for $1,675 US. And titled, 1940 WWII Paratrooper Cushman Scooter.

Has to be ture? Right?

Now it's back on eBay with Cushman taken out of the title but still in the description along with other spam keywords. Must have been a shill bidder for it not to be completed and back up for another try to get someone else.
Reported to eBay . . . they don't care.
