DUKW dimensional info
I'm an RC modeler itching to do another DUKW, in accurate detail. My first model was fun but also not too correct or complete.
Which is it??? Could anyone take a tape measure to one to help me get calibrated?
TIA, patmat
Hoping to find someone with a real DUKW who might not mind checking a dimension or two? My first step is to build an accurate model in 3D CAD, and I'm unaware of any detailed source docs for dimensions, other than this clip from TM 9-802:
The big question here: This image shows the deck line rising aft, and non-horizontal, non-parallel rub rails. I have a hard time seeing this in photos of real DUKWs... indeed, most look to have the rub rails completely horizontal and parallel.Which is it??? Could anyone take a tape measure to one to help me get calibrated?
TIA, patmat

Re: DUKW dimensional info
de rub rails as you call them are horizontal and parallel. the whole dukw is tilting forward or back depending on the load...
the deck rail as you call it rises indeed. check pictures
also try to search in online dukw manuals for drawings

Re: DUKW dimensional info
Thanks, but the very drawing you posted shows them fanning out aft. You can even print it out and measure the spread.

Ah sorry, I missed both! The system didn't send me an email on the notification... and now the transfer link has expired. Any chance of trying again?
