GPA part needed

Does anyone have a picture of the, bumper (front coaming vent lid anti rattler), 91A16758? Second question does anyone have any of these and if not what are folks using in their place?

Bill,
I found it in the parts list but for the life of me cannot remember 3 bumpers on the cowling anywhere. Do you know where these bumpers were located exactly?
Thanks,
Donovan.

They go under the front edge of the vent lid on the top of the dash. If you look at the picture that Bob posted of the Navy Officer, looks like from Life Magazine, from the post about the windshield rubber resting pads you can see them. The part number in the Ford Master Parts List identifies it as not being used exclusively on government vehicles but can’t find what other vehicle they are used on.

Bill,
You are correct! I saw the bumpers in the photo. I went and looked at my vehicle and there are three 1/4-inch holes but no bumpers. I think they fell off long before I obtained my vehicle and restored it! I looked in the Ford Master Parts List (SNL G-658 Feb 1944) and it shows a number of vehicles having this same part (see page 122), mostly trucks and sedans! If you look on page 119 there is a sketch of the part on the right hand side). You might be able to get a similar part at Ace Hardware.
I will look at my local Ace Hardware and see what they have. Also McMaster Carr might have these …….just wish we had dimensions on it!
Good luck,
Donovan

Ace Hardware (aka The GPA store) is a good place to start. I bought a lot of fittings and misc stuff there during the restoration of GPA 5520. I found a suitable bumper at a high end mega hardware store but it was not at my local Ace store.
