Spicer 41 rear axle

Looking for a Spicer 41 rear axle for my 47 CJ2A

You can install a Spicer 44, only adjustment is to shorten the rear propeller shaft. Spicer 44 started with later CJ-3A. CJ-3B, M-38 and CJ 5 will work to, just have to swap backing plates.

#41 and #44 share the same axle shafts,ratio, wheel bearings, seals,offset, etc, the differential housing for the 44 is heavier, and are easier to find in good condition, the shorter #44 rear propeller shaft must be installed. The #44 has heavier gears.

I put the 44 in my 2a. Back in the day lockers werent available for the 41-2 However it still depends on that little keyway in the axle shaft to transmit power to the hub. Bigger tires, posi traction and a heavy foot will rip that right in half.
