Searching for Autolite Generator GDZ 4817A. Doesn’t have to be restored. If it comes with a rebuild kit all the better :)

Howdy,
I have a generator GDZ 4817A with the Autolite tag. BUT at both the Armature and Field terminal is stamped 12V?? It appears this was stamped by hand. I do not remember what vehicle this came from other than a CJ-2A. The regulator attached to the Gen has NO indication of 6V or 12V.
You have any ideas if a 6V Gen can be converted to 12V?
If you are interested I can take a few pictures and email them to you.

I am unsure about the 12 V stamping myself. I have never seen / inspected one myself.

If you share photos , are you ok I show it to others who know far more than me?

Perhaps they can give some guidance.

Changing the field coils and armature can change the voltage. (I put 24V components in a 12V genny for my Cherokee)
So that can explain the hand stamp 12V.
