Wanted: M606
Looking for an unrestored (or older restoration that needs work) M-606 project vehicle in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone. I have little preference whether is a (1) Willys, (2) Mitsubishi, or (3) Mahindra. (But my preference would go in number order from 1-2-3).
I'm located in southern Oregon and I am willing to travel within the pacific northwest and (if I have to) battle California traffic.
If you know of one, or if you come across one. I'd appreciate a link or POC.
Salute.

Re: Wanted: M606
IRQVET,
Mitsubishi's and Mahindra's are foreign built (contract) jeeps and I believe do have military versions. The M606 was built by Kaiser and AFAIK are military versions of the CJ-3B only (for export only). So there may not be any state side. There's lots of information on the CJ3B Page on all these jeeps.
If you are able to find a venting windshield for a CJ-3B, you'd be able to recreate a very accurate M606.

Re: Wanted: M606
Mitsu and Mahindra also produced variants of the M-606, not just Kaiser Willys under the Alliance for Progress program. I'm looking for a Kaiser Willys, or an export that has found its way back to the U.S. I realize availability will be limited here in the U.S.

Re: Wanted: M606
When I was in Korea, the ROKs had M606s; high gloss 14087, and looked very sharp. I found a Kaiser with a fold out windshield, which seem to be super hard to find. I will re create the ROK jeeps in my next restoration.
I have never seen a real M606 in the US. No reason for any to be here. Some Navy CJ3Bs here though.
Most 606s seem to be late; go to the CJ3B page; probably the best overall jeep web site.

Re: Wanted: M606
Yeah I've seen some coated in high gloss, I always liked that look too.
I checked out that ad for the rig in Phoenix. That rig doesn't strike me as a true M-606, but a Franinstein CJ3b painted in olive drab. Thanks for the referral though.

Re: Wanted: M606
The link is for an M606 with 4700 miles on it that is original and unrestored. It is a semi gloss or gloss green.
Fold out windshield. Original (possibly) paint and seat cushions.

Re: Wanted: M606
There is something about the M-606 that makes a CJ-3B worth a second look. The Army bought a pile of 1964 dated CJ-3B's that were gloss 14087 with KOENIG Full Cabs, Warn Hubs and 6.00X16 Goodyear All Service NDT's. They were for administrative use . Most were surplus by 1970.
