Where to look for project

Post by Michael_Mogensen » Mon Jun 06, 2022 1:20 am

(I’m new here so I hope I get it all right - otherwise please tell) I’m the happy owner of a ‘68 Ford Mutt M151A1 (first model - later came A2) and I would like to move on to a new project with a Willys since garage is empty now and I’ve seen so many nice restored ones - been for the past two days on a local exhibition/show here so images are still fresh in mind. I have to learn as I go as I did with previous cars and I realize that a G-project could also be pricy since this jeep has a growing popularity these days. But its such a nice dirty hobby to play with vintage cars. Apart from my 151 I have a ‘69 GT6 Triump. So a G-project would be really old for me :-)
My question is really: Where to look for Willys -projects (online)? And what about all these scammers warned for - is it risky to purchase a project? I’m from Denmark and we have some local ressources like https://willysjeep.dk/ and I found in another article that: “Denmark acquired about 100 of these jeeps in 1947/48 as a replacement for, among other things, the Austin Utility, you can read in Henrik Teller's book Vehicles in the Danish army 1945-2005. A further close to 3,000 pieces were delivered during the weapons aid in the period 1951 to 1955. Some of the carriages were equipped with nozzle cannons, machine guns, VHF radio equipment or built as an ambulance with a stretcher.” (https://pingvinnyt.dk/holder-mange-aeld ... -koerende/) So we danes only acquired 100 early models and then later around 3k in the 50’ So looking at the situation from my geographical perspective perhaps there is not so many choices as you folks have in the states. As I said: I learn as I go. I find this car such a lovely piece of industrial design … like true for my Mutt: https://youtu.be/1JWuMbJaYMo.
Sincerely, Michael Mogensen, Denmark.
