47 MB-2a undoing bubba generator
I have a 1947 frame and power train with a 1944 tube, so a MB-2a that has a 12 alternator bubba installed with a welder. I have another L134 engine that came with a Auto lite GDZ-4801a 6 volt generator on it(pictured). Will this work in the mean time till I find a correct generator? What is the difference between all these 6 volt generators? Thank you

This is the bubba alternator I took off. SP781 pulley on it. Wonder if the pulley will go on the GDZ-4801a.

The PO welded the alternator on???
The 6V gen should work just fine just make sure you get a regulator that is compatible.
I converted my jeep to 12V and the only thing I needed to pay attention to was the pulley. Ensure that the groove will align (and matches in depth/width) with the water pump and crankshaft. Other than that, what the pulley looks like shouldn't matter. The generator will also need enough pivot movement to correctly tighten the belt.
For reference, this is what the pulley would look like:
