A CJ3B would not have combat wheels.

Yes, strictly speaking, "Combat wheels" weren't on a CJ3B. However, the CJ3B shares the wheel dimensions of all the civilian flat fender jeeps. The early standard was 16" x 4.5" (factory tire: 6.00 x 16) where eventually, an option was offered for 15" x 4.5" (factory tire: 7.00 x 15). While I've seen 3B's with 16" wheels, I've noticed more having the optional 15" wheels. I've read that the M606 had an optional 7.00 x 16 tire.

On the two choices of civilian wheels/tires, I believe the overall diameter would have been nearly the same. Later models eventually settled on rims measuring 15" and a bit wider.

IF the stud pattern is the same AND the wheel center hole big enough, then other wheels would certainly fit. The one thing then to watch is offset that may affect turn radius. I don't think there would be an issue fitting over the stock 9" brakes but upgrades to 10" or 11" would need to be checked.

p.s. send your 3B information to Derek Redmond for the CJ3B Page!

I have an M606 made by Kaiser with many Mitsubishi parts, (yes they made them under license) and it has the M38 type wheel with the integral bead lock. When we talk about "combat" wheels, we mean, the two piece bolt together wheel, which were not used after WW2.

By "integral Bead Lock" do you mean what the Tire and Rim Association calls a "safety hump"?

The original poster said "Combat Tires", not "combat wheels", so he may have simply meant Non Directional Tires?

I don't know if Land Rover wheels fit, I assume not.

Jeep wheels are 5 holes on 5.5 inch bolt circle and 4.25 inch center bore.
