Re: Tesla powered CJ
I like the CJ and the re-powering with an electric motor...perhaps that is the way forward for our vehicles
What I don't like is the guy doing the talking....he - does - not - stop - to - take - a - breath.
Also there is the text at the bottom at about 1.30: "Professional driver on a closed course - Do not attempt" ....Does that refer to him putting on his gloves while driving or is is a disclaimer like " don't put your dog in the washing machine to clean him" ?
Noticed also that the front axle does not have the drive flanges on it....probably not needed because there is no driven front axle, but it would look kinda cool to finish it off

Re: Tesla powered CJ
That's an impressive amount of effort for sure and the history of Jeeps in the Philippines is a great intro, but I don't think the Tesla is the best choice for most of us. It's actually pretty easy to mate an electric motor from a Zero motorcycle to the factory gearbox, so one can have most of the Jeep experience with something that has a pretty similar amount of power.

Re: Tesla powered CJ
Yes I agree.
Last time I have sent a video showing a ride in my jeep to my son in Sydney, he just told me : » I love that nice an clean engine sound! ».
So no electric engine in my jeep, of course.
