CJ3B finished

Post by Chuck W. » Fri Mar 05, 2021 10:08 am

After a 15 month rebuild, my 1964 CJ3B is finally finished. It's back in it's correct Spruce Tip Green, as shipped from the factory.

Just realized I don't have a good photo of the engine compartment, will take some next time I am at the shop.
Took me a while to find the correct late stencil for this year model, got the early one the first time. The CJ3B page has an excellent article on the progression of the 4-Wheel Drive stencils over the years. https://www.cj3b.info/Dating/4WDStencil.html

William Wilson was who I purchased the jeep from several years ago. My wife could never remember his name and she just called it the Wilson Wilson jeep. When William died suddenly, I put the name on the windshield in his memory.

Thank you for all the kind comments! I am happy with the way it turned out.
Here's the engine compartment. I have the battery out and the generator and voltage regulator off for rebuild and testing.

Awesome job on your restoration! Did 3b come with a rear seat? My dad had one but as kids we always sat on the rear fender wells!
Thanks for showing the pictures!

Rear seats were optional; many buyers didn't spring for the extra $19.
